LORE
The sole daughter of the esteemed Eastside scientist Doctor Theodore Millias and wife, Ophelia was sent to boarding school shortly following the death of her mother, at the tender age of four years old.Overcome with grief for his wife and living a significant distance from his daughter, Doctor Millias threw himself entirely into his work.
Contact between Ophelia and her father was irregular, however, he would frequently send his daughter lavish gifts and excessive allowance money. It was the only way he knew how to remind his daughter that he loved her.Ophelia’s childhood was a lonely, quiet one consumed by academia, however, she grew to love the arts and humanities during her long years of study and would graduate with remarkable grades and a passion for the visual arts, philosophy, literature, and poetry.
As a graduation gift, her father brought her a luxurious penthouse apartment by the seaside, overlooking the ocean.
Ophelia would gain something of a reputation amongst the Eastside elite for her reclusive nature but excessively generous funding of the arts. Ophelia never worked, but from her allowance money and trust fund alone she would regularly purchase designer clothes, rare first editions of her favourite books, original paintings, antique jewellery . . . although a quiet, borderline shy girl, Ophelia was respected as a beautiful heiress and patron of the arts, with her mysterious nature only seeming to add to her charm. However, her reputation would only remain in the good graces of the East before rumours began to spread of fraudulent cheques and unpaid debts to various artists and designer boutiques. Whispers of bankruptcy and fraud grew harder to ignore, all whilst coinciding with her elderly father’s descent into paranoia.
Doctor Millias had been working closely amongst Paradeisian officials in anti-mania experimentation, however as more and more of his work grow stolen or replaced, and the conditions of his work grew more and more restrictive; he grew fearful of conspiracy and was certain his death was near.He confessed his fears to his daughter and began to regularly meet with her for the first time in years; he promised her that she would inherit his entire estate and fortune when he’d pass and begged her to protect his work and legacy. When the two were not together, he’d excessively write letters to her.Less than 24 hours following his finalised life insurance, he met Ophelia at her penthouse to inform her and share the documents; which included confidential details of his work and how to access his archive of research. That same day, Ophelia would call authorities, informing them that her father had committed suicide in her home. She would be arrested on immediate suspicion of murder.
MUTATION ASSESSMENT
Ability Summary
The subject possesses an uncanny intuition and is almost always accurately able to predict someone or something's next movements.
Her poetry and writings have repeatedly accurately predicted future events and circumstances, however the subject claims that her foresight is not by choice and that her predictions are sudden, and random.
awakening signs
The subject's earliest known records of foretelling poetry were dated shortly after her probation, following her first arrest. She claims to have little to no recollection of the specifications following the writings of these, besides waking up in feverish fits with the compulsive urge to write.
Corruption State
Despite showing no physical signs of corruption, the subject suffers from insomnia, frequent vivid dreams, hallucinations, and nightmares. The subject is sensitive and has shown little socialisation since arrival. Her solitary-confinement, domestic isolation, and neglect has left her mental state in poor condition.
criminal record
A notoriously private Eastside heiress, the subject was the sole daughter of the well respected Doctor Millias, a scientist and professor who worked closely with governments and nobles in the East.Little was known about her publicly beyond her regular and excessive spending. Several designer boutiques, galleries, and artists have spoken out about the subject's unpaid debts and fraudulent cheques amongst speculation her trust fund had began drying up in recent months.
The subject had reported her father's alleged suicide from her seaside penthouse, however the subject's accounts of events were inconsistent, and suspicion arose when firearms were found in her home, alongside confidential documentation of her father's life insurance. His body was discovered, washed up on the shore, in the following weeks of Ophelia's arrest and his death was declared a murder. Ophelia was immediately arrested and held in solitary confinement whilst investigations began. She remained in custody for over six months, however she was eventually released on parole and her ongoing trial was put on pause due to a lack of evidence against her and the case growing cold.
Shortly following her release, the subject was found trespassing amongst her father's workplace and was once again arrested. Mania was detected on the subject and she was immediately sent to the MBCC for custody.
